The Breakthrough

Been listening to Mary J. Blige all morning. Back with another gorgeous album to prove (one more time) why she's the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. The Breakthrough debuted at No. 1, selling 727,000 units in its first week. Check back later this week for my review.

26th consecutive day of rain here in Van City. It wasn't just a little shower this morn, either, it was the sort of downpour that makes you wonder if it'll smash a couple windows. I'm not blue though, not when I am this close to getting the hell out of dodge (as my editor Mike says).

And in hip-hop...

Everyone wants to be a rapper now.

And a blogger. Everybody and their mothers are launching blogs. A lot of the new blogs are wack. This one is not. (Chris Lighty has been in the blogsphere about two minutes and he's already making news.)

It's Ambition Week at DOSE. Today is all about George Stroumboulopoulos--who is, as DOSE's Heather Adler puts it, "the only MuchMusic VJ who didn’t make you want to vomit in rage."
