Freaky Friday

The tragicomic saga at The Source continues. The magazine's board is attempting to oust Dave Mays and Benzino. According to a press release sent to allhiphop.com, the Board of Directors feels their involvement in the company hurts "not only the employees of The Source, but all of its investors, vendors, subscribers and readers." The Board called a meeting to ratify the firing, but Mays and Zino obtained a restraining order against the Board to temporarily stall the process. Mays told the New York Post: "They can want to do that all they want, but it's not happening."

In other news, hip-hop filmmakers take note: Cannes wants to hear from you. Shout out to Kareem Edouard, whose flick Bling: Consequences and Repercussions about conflict diamonds is well worth checking out.

Rumor has it that Juelz Santana clocked a writer who published some unflattering comments. Letters to the editor are one thing. Shitty voice messages are another. But running up on someone is a whole other level.
