Heard 'Em Say

In a great mood. Sensing a pattern here. Could it be that the nonstop sunshine is banishing all my grumpies? Been up since 6 working and I don't even mind. Deadline this morn (that's what you get for playing the daily game), but it's stuff I'm really interested in. And anyway, that's what caffeine is for. Shout out to Celine Wong, an excellent editor--and a fantastic writer to boot.

I love my job. (And by "job" I mean stringing freelance assignments together to somehow make a living!) But seriously, there's something so compelling about getting curious about some person or issue or album or event and being able to go directly to the source and ask questions. I think that right there is why I ended up being a journalist, instead of an English professor, which was my original plan. (I have the massive student loans to prove it.)

Waiting for my friends to wake up so we can go do dim sum.

Jacquie was on fun patrol last night. Through clenched teeth: "We. Must. Have. Some. Fun. Godammit". It was a girls night last night, but since none of us ever feel like going to the bar anymore we went and saw Match Point, the haunting new Woody Allen flick about infidelity. Then we all drove around into the wee hours and listened to John Legend and eye-rolled and tisk-tisked the lyrics ("you can't say I don't love you just because I cheat on you") even though we can't help but adore his music anyway--and we happen to know more than a few people like him, both male and female--and ran down the he said/she said on how messed up our generation is in regards to the whole monogamy issue.
